Meet Coco Iman

I met my 3-week-old granddaughter, Coco Iman, for the first time yesterday. She’s in that delicious newborn phase – where they smell like hope, and dazzle with their tiny feet and hands. And they sleep, feed, and poop on repeat. She fits into your arms, onto your chest as if she has always belonged there.

In the past week, I have been missing my mom and wondering what my identity will be without her. I have come to realize that when you lose a mom, you lose that umbrella of protection over you.
